77+ Standards. One System. Zero Uncertainty.
DokuTech.app integrates the relevant European machinery safety standards directly into your documentation workflow – from risk assessment to finished operating manual.
Standards are not a paper tiger – they save lives
In 2019, more than 80,000 workers across Europe were injured while operating machinery. Harmonized standards are the key instrument to reduce these numbers. Those who document in compliance with standards protect not only users – but also themselves from liability claims.
The European standards system: From basic standard to machine standard
European standards for machinery safety are organized hierarchically. This A/B/C system ensures that everything is covered, from general principles to machine-specific requirements.
Basic safety standard
Basic concepts, design principles, general methodology
EN ISO 12100 – Risk assessment
Generic safety standard (aspects)
Specific safety aspect across machine types
EN ISO 13849-1 – Control parts
Generic safety standard (devices)
Specific protective device
EN ISO 14120 – Guards
Product standard (machine standard)
Detailed requirements for a specific machine category
EN 415-4 – Packaging machines
Presumption of conformity: Those who apply a harmonized standard may presume that the legal requirements of the Machinery Regulation are met.
77+ standards – directly integrated into your workflow
DokuTech.app contains a curated standards database with over 77 of the most important harmonized standards. These are actively embedded in the documentation process – not as a PDF collection, but as an intelligent working foundation.

With us, standards are not PDFs in a cabinet
They work actively for you
Standards matrix in risk analysis
Automatic suggestions based on industry and machine type. For each standard, applicability is documented – with justification and prioritization.
AI-powered validity check
Automatic verification: Is the standard still current? Has it been withdrawn? Is there a successor standard? With confidence level (high/medium/low).
537 compliant chapters in 9 system templates
Templates based on EN ISO 20607 and (EU) 2023/1230. Each chapter contains: predefined AI prompt, compliance level marking, multilingual titles.
3-step method per EN ISO 12100
1. Inherently safe design → 2. Technical protective measures → 3. User information. Residual risks are automatically adopted as ISO 7010-compliant warnings.
Hazard identification per Annex B
AI-powered detection based on Annex B of EN ISO 12100: mechanical, electrical, thermal, noise, vibration, radiation, materials/substances, ergonomic.
January 20, 2027: The deadline for the new EU Machinery Regulation
The new EU Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 replaces the previous Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Published on June 29, 2023, mandatory from January 20, 2027. DokuTech.app already supports the requirements of the new regulation today.
| Thema | 2006/42/EG | (EU) 2023/1230 |
|---|---|---|
| Legal form | Directive (must be transposed into national law) | Regulation (applies directly in all EU member states) |
| Digital instructions | Not provided for | Operating instructions may be provided digitally (paper on request) |
| Cybersecurity | Not addressed | New requirement: 'Protection against corruption' (Annex III, 1.1.9) |
| Artificial intelligence | Not addressed | Requirements for machines with self-evolving behavior |
| High-risk machines | Annex IV (limited list) | Extended list in Annex I, Parts A and B |
| Conformity assessment | Self-declaration for most machines | Third-party examination required for high-risk machines |
DokuTech.app is already prepared for the new Machinery Regulation. All system templates and AI prompts account for the requirements of (EU) 2023/1230.
From Geneva to your operating manual: The journey of a standard
Standards don't emerge overnight. The process from idea to published harmonized standard typically takes 3–5 years and involves hundreds of experts.
Currently, technical committees are reviewing all 800+ standards for the new Machinery Regulation – the 'gap analysis' is expected to be completed by end of 2026.
Our promise: Always compliant – without studying standards
You don't need to be a standards expert to create compliant documentation. DokuTech.app translates the complex requirements of 77+ standards into a guided workflow:
